Welcome to Seniors for Seniors™
Proudly employing and serving Seniors for the past 24 years, Seniors For Seniors™ was established in Toronto in May 1985 by Peter D. Cook on the advice of his then 80 year old mother who told him that several of her younger friends were bored at home and her older friends were not ill but needed assistance to help them remain comfortable in their own homes.
Seniors For Seniors™ is a non-medical homecare agency providing Junior Seniors (50 years of age plus) to serve and assist Senior Seniors. Because the average age of our Junior Seniors is between 60 and 65 years, there is a minimal intergenerational gap between the caregiver and the care receiver and therefore many mutual life experiences to share.
All of our personnel are bonded, screened and carefully selected. Their backgrounds vary and include retired professionals, engineers, managers, pastors, teachers, nurses, social workers, volunteers experienced in community services, children of aging parents, personal support workers and other allied healthcare professionals.
But all of our Junior Seniors share the desire and have an affinity for working with seniors wishing to remain independent in their own homes, whether home is a private residence, retirement community, assisted living residence or nursing home. They have the maturity, work ethic and sense of responsibility so important to the delivery of quality compassionate care. Many of our Junior Seniors are also trained and experienced in Dementia and Alzheimer care.
Relationships are key therefore we make every effort to send the same Junior Senior to the same Senior Senior to promote the sense of continuity and stability with the senior and their loved ones. Since the inception of Seniors For Seniors™ we have successfully employed thousands of Junior Seniors to assist thousands of Senior Seniors. Independent sources have rated Seniors For Seniors™ the most caring homecare organization with the best personnel.
“Several months ago you folks responded to a requirement I had for a dementia client in the Scarborough Bluffs area who needed some help to stay at home. You introduced me to W.D. To make a long story short, W.D. took the assignment with Mrs. T. and ran with it. W.D. went above and beyond anyone’s expectations, but exceeded even those when she saved Mrs. T.’s life on September 16th. She had called Mrs. T. to remind her of their meeting the next day; not liking the sound of her voice, she went to Mrs. T’s home, saw clear evidence of a neurological disturbance, called 911 and stayed with Mrs. T. at the hospital until the two adult children, who live out of town, were able to arrive. Unfortunately Mrs. T died on September 18th, but her children had a chance to see her and make the necessary arrangements.
I cannot say enough about W. D.’s work ethic, dedication, attention to detail and general affinity for the practice of eldercare. Any family will be very lucky to have her assigned to them.
"Keep up the excellent work you do."
